High on a hill

More X-E1 shots from Grindelwald. These are JPEG's with very minor contrast adjustments in Lightroom:

Beside the seaside

Spent some time in Deal, Kent over the Easter break and it gave me a chance to put the X-E1 through it's paces. It's a truly marvellous little camera - quick, discreet and a joy to use - but it's the quality of the JPEG's that have really won me over. Out of camera they are clean, sharp, full of detail and dynamic range. Some examples below which have been processed in Lightroom:

Wacom Cintiq 12WX and Photoshop CS6 cursor lag

I've been using my Cintiq in CS6 (OS X) for about a year and have always battled against cursor 'lag' - basically drawing a line on the Cintiq and the cursor taking a couple of seconds to catch up. The effect pretty much destroys the feel and usability of the Cintiq.

Well - a solution has been found. In Photoshop, go to Preferences>Performance and uncheck (i.e. disable) "Use Graphics Processor". What this effectively does is disable OpenGL hardware rendering - which sounds like a bad thing - but the improvement has been incredible. No discernable lag whatsoever, no matter what size brushes, speed of drawing or resolution of image.

Uncheck this and solve all of your (wacom related) problems.
